Archive servers specialise in the long-term storage and backup of data and documents, which are often subject to strict legal retention requirements. Data servers enable centralised access and management of files and databases, which improves the efficiency and security of data handling. Video servers are responsible for the storage, processing and delivery of video content, often with additional functions such as transcoding and streaming. Modern cooling technologies include aluminium coolers with fans, supplemented by copper heat spreaders and heat pipes. For high-end processors with very high heat generation, water cooling using liquid heat sinks is an option. Laptop | Notebook cooling
Laptop and notebook cooling poses a particular challenge, as the limited size of the compact housing offers little space for classic finned heat sinks. The increasingly powerful components must be kept within a safe temperature range with special CPU coolers for laptops, despite limited air circulation. EKL offers the tried and tested heatpipe heat sinks for laptop and notebook cooling. They quickly transport the heat away from the electronic component to the housing and the aluminium or copper heat sink installed there. Tiny fans provide forced ventilation to quickly dissipate the power loss into the ambient air and draw in cool air.
