For every standard, the right PCB heat sink for the circuit board
- TO 220 heat sinks for housings with cooling fins: These housings are particularly important for heat dissipation in electronic components that process higher power levels. For effective cooling, these components often have to be mounted on a heat sink/PCB cooler, with an insulating plate placed between the cooling fin and the heat sink to ensure electrical insulation.
- TO 218 heat sink for semiconductor packages, often used in electronics for power components such as transistors. It is known for its ability to handle high currents and is often used as PCB heatsinks that require efficient heat dissipation. The TO-218 packages are designed to be mounted on heat sinks to dissipate the heat generated by operation. This is crucial to ensure the reliability and longevity of the electronic components.
- TO 05 heat sinks for packages of small semiconductors such as transistors: They are known for their round metal can shape, often with a flat area for mounting and heat dissipation. The PCB Heat Dink design of these packages allows for efficient heat dissipation and protection for the component, making it useful for applications where reliability and longevity are important.
- TO 18 heat sinks for transistor metal housings, which are known for their robustness. They are often used for components that have to withstand higher loads. There are also variants that are used for diodes, photodiodes and LEDs, which can only have two connections.
- SMD heat sinks for surface-mounted devices: electronic components that have been developed for surface mounting. Unlike traditional through-hole mounted components that use wire leads, SMDs have solderable pads that are soldered directly to PCBs. This technology allows for a more compact and efficient design of electronic devices as it takes up less space and allows for double-sided assembly of the PCB. EKL heat sinks for SMD are perfectly designed for this.
- DPAK/TO252 heat sinks for semiconductor housings of transistors and diodes: The "DPAK" stands for "Discrete Package" and is known for its compact size and its ability to efficiently dissipate heat. DPAK components are usually rectangular with a flat bottom that is soldered to a printed circuit board to ensure a good thermal connection.
- D2PAK/TO263 heat sinks for semiconductor device package types commonly used for transistors and MOSFETs. This type of component is known for its ability to handle higher power, making it ideal for applications that require good heat dissipation.
- D3PAK/TO-268 heat sinks for even larger package types.
